Wed 24 Nov - Live Comedy Night

Come and join us for our November comedy night! Master of the one liners, Mark Simmons is taking the comedy circuit by storm right now, headlining all major comedy venues in the UK and abroad. Mark’s TV and radio presence is sharply rising, now a semi-regular on BBC2’s Mock The Week as well as featuring on ITV’s Out There. Simmons has a host of awards in his bag already including runner up at the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year, finalist of ‘So You Think You're Funny’ and the NATY award. Simmons has been extremely busy of late supporting the likes of Sean Walsh , Rob Beckett & Michael McIntyre. In Edinburgh his solo shows have consistently received 4 and 5 star reviews year after year.

Opening the night is Barry Castagnola who is an actor, writer, director, producer and stand-up comedian. His easy-going (yet very physical) style, mixing personal anecdotes with some sharp topical and political comment, enthuses audiences at most of the major comedy clubs in the UK. He has been on Live At The Comedy Store (Comedy Central) and The Stand Up Show (BBC1) and also supported Greg Davies and Rhod Gilbert on their tours. As well as being a popular compere, Barry regularly headlines gigs around the country. He has performed in New York, Ireland, The Melbourne Comedy Festival, Glastonbury and The Reading Festival. and performed many shows at The Edinburgh Fringe to great critical acclaim.

Support act is 'story teller' Kevin Daniel who has been performing comedy since June 2019. He was nominated for Midlands new comedian of the year in 2019 and was a finalist of West Yorkshire comedian of the year 2021.

The evening will be compered by the Mill's resident MC, Pete Teckman.

Over 18s only. Please note some material by comedians may be of an adult nature. Acts are subject to change.
