Our life saving defibrillator is now up and running!
If you can cast your mind back to the spring you may remember that we ran a fundraising quiz to raise money for this defibrillator. Now, thanks to everyone's generosity back then and contributions from individuals who have made this possible, it's now been registered and is ready to go...
Although we have this situated outside the front of the Mill, it is most definitely there for the whole community and anyone who may need its assistance. Cardiac Arrest kills over 60,000 people, of all ages, in the UK each year. If a heart defibrillator is used within 3-5mins of a cardiac arrest, the chances of survival increases from 6% to a huge 74%.
This is such an invaluable bit of kit and one which we really don't want to have to use!
