Sat 12 Sept - Heritage Open Day: Life at Towcester Workhouse

Life could be worse... You could be living in the Towcester Workhouse! Did you know that there was a Workhouse in Towcester? Or where it was? Did you know that it ran for nearly 100 years? Or what it would have been like to live there?

Come along and hear Alison's lively talk about life in the Workhouse - the tales and scandals of both the inmates and the wardens.

Alison has lived in the Towcester area for over 30 years and has co-written three books on local history topics including one on Stories.  She is a member of the Towcester and District Local History Society and one of its research group members.

Held in the Malt Room on the second floor at 7pm. Doors to the Malt Room bar open at 6.30pm. Talk will last around 45 minutes, plus some time will be available for Q&As and to chat to the Towcester and District Local History Society.
