Thurs 24 Sept - Live Comedy Night

* HEADLINING PHIL WALKER AND JAY HANDLEY *

Topping the bill will be Phil Walker, whose act has taken him to some weird and wonderful places, from a scout hut in Unst in the Shetland Isles to a porta-cabin on mount Alice in the Falkland Islands, basically he’ll go anywhere for a laugh! Phil has been in demand as a headline act at most of the leading comedy clubs throughout the country as well as major cruise lines and hotels internationally. He made his debut at the Edinburgh festival in 2012 where he received four-star critical acclaim for his one-hour show "Is this it?" Phil has also recently been seen as opening act for legendary music icon Frankie Valli as part of his UK tour and support act for comedy superstar Jason Manford on his "Like Me" tour. Television credits to date include 'Talking Telephone Numbers' ITV1, 'Live at Jongleurs' Paramount, 'The Big Stage' Ch 5, 'Today with Des & Mel' ITV1. His great act, along with his warm personality and charm, have made Phil one of the most sought-after entertainers around today.

"One of the funniest comedians out there" Jason Manford

Opening the night will be Jay Handley, who used to make beautiful sculpted oak furniture before binning it all off to become a comedian instead! He performs all over the country at some of its very best venues. These include Indigo @ The O2, The Hackney Empire, The 99 Club, Top Secret Comedy Club, The Glee Club, Covent Garden, Backyard and many more! He has been a regular at the Edinburgh Fringe since 2011 and performs a new solo-show back to back with his legendary late show every year at the Banshee Labyrinth.

Support for the evening will be Fitzgerald Honger, a dynamic and multi-talented comedian, writer and actor, known for his unique and creative sense of humour. His style is observational and deadpan, drawing on personal relationships, work and taboo subjects to entertain audiences. Completing the line-up will be John Smith, who is a British comedian, actor and performer .John draws on his personal experiences of being profoundly deaf to inspire his work, covering topics such as deaf issues, deaf politics and school life. John offers an amusing and fascinating insight into being deaf and the world of British Sign Language. John’s popularity speaks volumes; most of his UK performances are a sell-out and like many of his shows, leave people wanting more.

The evening will be compered by the Mill's fabulous resident MC, Pete Teckman, who won the Not So New Comedian of the Year 2023 award.
