* HEADLINING JONNY AWSUM AND MIKE GUNN *
Topping the bill will be Jonny Awsum, an award-winning comedian who has charmed audiences all around the world with his high energy performance style and unique brand of musical comedy. After building his reputation on the UK comedy circuit, where he is a regular headliner and closing act, Jonny shot to national fame on Britain’s Got Talent. His TV performances won standing ovations and unanimous praise from the judges and went viral on the internet, racking up over 50 million views on YouTube. Following BGT, Jonny enjoyed a whirlwind 18 months including a sell-out five-star reviewed run at the Edinburgh Fringe, a starring role in his first pantomime, and tour support to both Lost Voice Guy and Tape Face on their hit UK theatre tours.
Opening the night will be Mike Gunn who, early in his career was supporting the likes of Jo Brand and Alan Davies and Lee Mack on his huge UK tour. He now headlines at all the top comedy venues in the UK and is rapidly reaching cult status on the circuit. He has performed internationally, taking his talent to Hong Kong, Ireland, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, New Zealand, and Saudi Arabia and to Australia at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, where he completed a five-week sell-out season. A misspent youth and a series of grim jobs cultivated his cynical outlook on life and a perverse desire led him to the world of stand-up. A self-confessed pessimist, he describes himself as “not a natural choice for a career in laughter”. He has a rare ability to walk close to the line of what audiences find acceptable and yet still remain likable and funny. His reputation for being a bit unfriendly, a touch dark and even morose is really not true. In real life he’s loving, warm and philanthropic. Just a bit misunderstood.
Television appearances include Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow (BBC1), Celebrity Deal or no Deal (CH 4), Harry Hill’s TV Burp (ITV), Al Murray’s sitcom ‘Time Gentlemen Please’ (Sky), Soccer AM (Sky 1), The Comedy Store (Comedy Central), Live At Jongleurs (CH5), and The Gas (CH4).
Support for the evening will be Christian Jegard who is a Brighton-based comedian who began performing stand-up and creating sketches in 2019. He is recognized for his alternative, vaudevillian style, blending charm, awkwardness, and humor in his performances.
Completing the line up will be Lewis Howard, a rising UK stand‑up comedian known for sharp, topical, and often political humour, with recent wins including Clap Back to Reality (Dec 2024) and Belper Comedy Club’s Rising Star.
The evening will be compered by the Mill's fabulous resident MC, Pete Teckman, who won the Not So New Comedian of the Year 2023 award.
