First live comedy night of 2019

Rob Rouse and Mandy Muden kick start 2019 by headlining the first live comedy night of the year at Towcester Mill Brewery on Thursday 31 January.

The perfect antidote to what is often known as a dull and dreary month, this comedy night is a great opportunity to brighten up January and end it with a laughter-filled night out!

One of comedy’s most lively, loveable and dynamic performers, Rob Rouse won Channel 4’s prestigious So You Think You’re Funny competition at the Edinburgh Festival way back in 1998. He may be recognised from 8 out of 10 Cats, Spoons, The Friday Night Project, Celebrity Juice, Dave’s One Night Stand, John Bishop’s Only Joking and Live at the Comedy store - either way, come and see him do what he does best; honest, frank, seriously funny stand-up!

Mandy Muden is the only woman ever to combine comedy and magic on the UK comedy and corporate circuits and has been awarded The Magic Circle Carlton Awards for Comedy in Magic. She has appeared on numerous TV programmes including ITV’s ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ where the judges loved her and gave her a standing ovation, taking her through to the semi-finals; as well as ‘Celebrity Come Dine With Me’ and ‘The World’s Greatest Magic'. Her string of mad, disastrous tricks and ridiculous jokes leaves her audience in tears of laughter.

Support act will be Jack Campbell - winner of the English Comedian of the Year 2014.

Compere for the night will be the Mill’s resident favourite, Pete Teckman, who has been crowned Silver Stand Up of the Year 2017 at Leicester Comedy festival, an award for comedians over 40 years of age, with his mix of self-deprecating and observational humour.

All tickets are priced at £15 (incl booking fee) and can be bought here. Doors to the Malt Room bar open at 7pm, show starts at 8pm. Food will be available from tex mex street food vendor, Baja Cantina. Order on arrival.

Towcester Mill is fast becoming known as a comedy venue in its own right as more and more acts line up to perform in the building best known for its ales. It has joined forces with Funhouse Comedy to bring some of the UK’s top comedians, as well as the country’s finest rising stars, to Towcester.
