Maius is back! Brewed just once a year, Maius, the old English name for May, is a mild ale at 3.6%, brewed specifically because CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) promotes ‘Mild throughout May’.
Mild ales are black to dark brown to pale amber in colour and come in variety of styles from warming roasty ales to light, refreshing thirst quenchers. Alcohol levels are typically low which is why Maius is the perfect pint for lighter summer evenings.
The pump clip for Maius shows a deer's head, representing the medieval deer park that is said to have been near Wood Burcote.
So, if you fancy a pint of this dark mild, then make sure you pop down to the Tap Room while it's on draught this month!
