Towcester Mill Brewery is hosting its first ever cycle sportive two months today, organised by LetsGoVelo, a cycle event management company with a niche involving breweries around the UK.
The Towcester Mill Brewery Sportive will take place on Sunday 26 May, with the event expected to have an uptake of close to 200 cyclists for the inaugural event. There are two distances, the Half Pint (35 miles) and the Full Pint (60 miles) which will take cyclists through relatively flattish beautiful countryside. Each rider who takes part will receive a bottle of Towcester Mill’s finest beer at the finish and an opportunity to mingle with friends and other participants. Cyclists will be able to purchase food before and after the event with an offer of gourmet burgers, hot dogs, breakfast baguettes as well as tea and coffee.
John Evans, Director of Towcester Mill Brewery, said, “We look forward to hosting our first ever Towcester Mill Brewery Sportive and welcoming cycling enthusiasts into our brewery. This is the first time we’ve hosted such an exciting sporting event from the brewery - it's ideal for us as we’re proud to promote a healthy consumption of beer with regular exercise.”
Toby Fellows, who runs LetsGoVelo, added, “We really look forward to working with Towcester Mill Brewery and hope to make this a successful annual sportive, not least because of the fantastic atmosphere they help create but also because of the beautiful countryside this cycling event covers.”
Cyclists need to sign up to the Brewery Sportive in advance so if you're interested in taking part please go to the LetsGoVelo website. 'On your bike' - one and all!
